[after all, one is generally stuck with what memories they have, for better or worse. But then memories can be all that remain, once everything else is faded and gone, and even if they hurt Linneus is not sure he would want his lost. Much of who he is now has been forged by such pains; by his past. Without his past, who would he be?

It seems he was not at all mistaken in his initial assessment - if anything the necessity for straws and spoons seems rather to back him up]
...I can't imagine this was meant for warming anyone exactly...
