Hey, Linneus! It's been a while since we last saw each other. How have you been?

Would you like to spend some time at the cafe? They have amazing coffee!

It's Sabo!

I should have said that before. Sorry!

[personal profile] chief_of_staff 2018-12-01 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It's fine! I should have said who I was in my first message. I'm too used to others knowing who I am based off of my handle on here.

[Of course, his handle is probably the dumbest one he could have chosen, but changing it is not an option.]

[personal profile] chief_of_staff 2018-12-01 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
No, it's just my name on the device! Did you pick one for yourself?

[Well, that's certainly endearing!]

[personal profile] chief_of_staff 2018-12-01 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you're supposed to use a handle to remain somewhat anonymous. Though, I chose the worst one for me!

[Hey, it took Sabo a little while to get used to all of this technology, too! Snails were way less complex than these devices.]

[personal profile] chief_of_staff 2018-12-01 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I could teach you some things about these devices, but I still don't know a whole lot about them! Back home, I just dealt with Transponder Snails! They weren't complex like these!

[personal profile] chief_of_staff 2018-12-01 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep! Snails that have receivers on their backs.

[He's explained this so many times now, that it's become somewhat natural to him.]

[personal profile] chief_of_staff 2018-12-01 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
It's what you speak into when you use a phone. I don't know how else to describe it, really!

Anyway, would you like to take a trip to the cafe with me sometime? Do you like coffee?

[personal profile] chief_of_staff 2018-12-01 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
They definitely do! When are you free to go?

[personal profile] chief_of_staff 2018-12-01 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope! I don't have work tonight so right now is perfect! Where should I meet you?

[personal profile] chief_of_staff 2018-12-01 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'm not in the Down at all anymore! I'm living with Ignis now! But I can meet you at the motel, if you'd like! Just give me a few minutes to get ready and make my way down there.

[ For Linneus, he needs to be a little more sleuthy - he messages Linneus instead, leaving a voicemail to ask him to come during the day, and if he could pretty please pick up a box for him, it's really important!

When he does arrive, there's a medium-sized box waiting for him. It's not addressed to anyone else but Linneus, and the card is very overt about it.

Merry Solstice! Aspen's script is a little messy, but he's clearly done his best to make it neat and readable. I'm sorry to 'trick' you a little, but I wanted to make sure you would get this... you mean a lot to me, and I thought these would suit you... or bring you peace. If you ever need something... be sure to tell me.

Inside is a shiny mahogany box; pressed dried flowers are on the top, and the sides have a similar design, varnish making it shine as if the flowers had grown into the piece itself. Most of them are lavender and daisies, though there are some magnolia blossoms as well. When opened, it's all the more evident what it is - it's a music box, a sweet lullaby playing from it. Inside is coated with a clear resin, painted fish frozen in time, mid-swim, while a crystal leaf dances on top of the 'water', the resin slightly ruffled around it to mimic the ripples of a pond when something comes into contact with it.

Along with it are two silver chains - both dainty. One is a necklace that has red crystal beads and a translucent little bell in the center; the other is a bracelet with tiny roses, connected by the small silver chains.

There's also a pack of no-bake cookies - peanut butter balls rolled in white powdered sugar to make it look like snow, chocolate-hazelnut truffles, and dipped pretzels studded with peppermint candy. They're not the neatest... Aspen clearly had some trouble making them, but they're quite tasty. ]

[Linneus will find a neatly wrapped present outside of his room, signed 'from Sabo'. It's hidden behind a rough looking potted plant, because he really didn't want anyone to steal it.

Sabo knows that Linneus really likes tea, so he spent an absurdly long amount of time finding the perfect tea for him. Asking the employee at the tea shop, he settled on buying a large tea set with twelve different types of tea. The set also has a small teapot and a cup with a base.]
